Sunday celebrated Word Health Day. Universal health coverage is the World Health Organization’s number one goal. Key to achieving it is ensuring that everyone can obtain the care they need, when they need it, right in the heart of the community.

Maternity Africa provides good maternal health care that vulnerable and marginalised women and girls in Northern Tanzania need, when they need it, right in the heart of their communities through our base at Kivulini Maternity Centre.

We are delighted with our maternal health outcomes for the first quarter of the year, with 321 deliveries (ahead of the target of 300), 414 family planning consultations (ahead of the target of 300) and 38 surgeries for obstetric fistula and other birth-acquired injuries (exactly on target).

We are grateful to God, our staff and our donors for such a fantastic start to the year. Thank you.
