Nembris lost three of her babies. She used to deliver her babies at home, and they were very big when they were born. They did not survive because they were weak after delivery.

Nembris is 26, and had one other baby living. She is the second of two wives. She arrived at Kivulini Maternity Centre on 9 June. Medical examinations determined that, once again she was carrying a large baby, and could not deliver normally.

The next day, Maternity Africa’s clinical staff safely delivered a baby girl (4.4 kg, almost 10 lb) by emergency Caesarean Section.

Nembris and her husband were very happy.

Maternity Africa cares for many pregnant women from Nebris’s village. She says that the women pass information around each other about the services offered by Maternity Africa at Kivulini Maternity Centre, and that they are very good.
