We are delighted that here in Kivulini Maternity Centre we are having more and more women attending for free, quality antenatal, postnatal and family planning care.
The rural community around the centre is demonstrating trust by attending for these outpatient services. We encourage the mums to come at least four times during pregnancy so they have received proper antenatal care. This adds to mother and baby well-being prior to delivery. For the mum we do vital signs and bloods and check the growth and well-being of the baby. We also show education videos and share information on family planning. This ensures that the women are able to make appropriate choices about spacing of future pregnancies.
