Meet Maternity Africa’s Doctor Doreen Moshi.

Doctor Doreen is an Assistant Medical Officer at Kivulini Maternity Centre, and one of our leading doctors. Doctor Doreen qualified as a General Practitioner at the Tanzanian Training Centre for International Health, then studied for another three years at Kilosa Clinical Officer Training Centre, specialising in maternal health. She then spent a further two years at University of Tanzania, Ifakara Region.

Before joining Maternity Africa, Doctor Doreen worked at a number of hospitals, serving vulnerable and marginalised members of the community. The also gained valuable experience as a General Practitioner and specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Selian Lutheran Hospital. Her experience in serving the local community also extends to Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre, to geriatric and paediatric care, and general surgery. At a local Government hospital, Doctor Doreen further developed her leadership and management skills as the Assistant Medical Officer in charge of the health centre.

Doctor Doreen enjoys obstetric work, particularly fistula surgery. She would love to undertake even more fistula surgery – and we trust that she will have even more opportunities to do so at Kivulini Maternity Centre. In addition to a busy professional life with Maternity Africa, Doctor Doreen is married with three children, aged nine, seven and four.

Thank you Doctor Doreen for saving lives and making childbirth safe at Kivulini Maternity Africa, and for all of your hard work. We appreciate you.
