Rebecca, a 56-year-old mother of four from Mashewa Village in Tanga, lived with obstetric fistula for 32 years after a prolonged and traumatic labor in 1993. Without access to timely medical care, she endured decades of leakage, isolation, and emotional abuse—all while raising her children.
For years, Rebecca believed healing wasn’t possible—until a former Maternity Africa patient encouraged her to seek help. On February 20, 2025, she arrived at Kivulini Maternity Centre. Just one month later, she was discharged, completely healed.
Now, Rebecca is living with renewed dignity and joy, surrounded by her loving children.
