This is Dr Asubiojo Benjamin. He is Ghanaian by nationality and a final year postgraduate student in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College in Moshi, around 120 kilometres (75 miles) from Kivulini Maternity Centre in Northern Tanzania.
Dr Asubiojo participated in our fistula camp earlier this year, predominantly to learn techniques from Dr Andrew Browning, Maternity Africa’s Founder and visiting surgeon. At the end of his time here, Dr Asubiojo said, “I am very impressed by the coordination and teamwork. Of particular note is seeing a new technique being used during surgery. I am very appreciative of the cool, clean and welcoming environment that maximises the delivery of health services both for patients and for health workers.”
Thank you Dr Asubiojo for your kind words. Maternity Africa wishes you every success in the remainder of your studies and your future career.
As patients continue to arrive this week and prepare for next week’s surgeries, we trust that they, too, will benefit from the coordination and teamwork, and enjoy the cool, clean, welcoming environment that our staff work so hard to achieve.
