Blood loss is common during certain surgeries. Maternity Africa relies on the local population for all-important blood donations so that we can treat our patients properly.
Local international school, UWC East Africa Arusha Campus, recently organised a hugely successful blood donation event among its senior students, parents, staff and friends.
Fiker, the student managing the event, says, “Organizing this blood drive has been such a wonderful experience. Our community has done a great job by adding to the blood storage of Maternity Africa’s hospital. This is a huge step taken to save lives and it shall be a tradition for our community.”
