Three of Maternity Africa’s staff recently attended Her Voice Symposium, an all-day event held at a nearby Institute of Community Development. Pictured on the left of the photograph is Neema Donatha, one of Maternity Africa’s teachers.

With 11% of deliveries at Maternity Africa’s Kivulini Maternity Centre to teenage mothers, we recruited Neema recently for our new Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Training and Education Programme. Through this initiative, Neema and her colleagues will educate young people in schools and elsewhere about how to make better, more informed life choices.

Neema participated in a panel discussion at the Symposium, attended by around 150 people, explaining Maternity Africa’s fistula treatment and prevention work as well as our new adolescent training programme.
